Hommage à John Cage 4:33, done at the university, for experimental media.
take an image. edit some hex codes, rotate, duplicate, apply some filters on it, etc.
noiseshapes is an interactive experimental installation, which makes use of the kinect depth camera to scan objects/people at certain positions in the room, which then generates audio signals considering properties like waveform, frequency and amplitude.
the 'phex' interface was customized to fit an event (GLOW @ celeste) and so was the name changed to 'noiseshapes'.
you can download the noiseshapes software, which runs in processing(.org) and try it on your own. you will need a kinect sonsor or a depth camera sensor, which is compatible with the SimpleOpenNI library. optionally you may want to have a projector, in order to recreate the experimental installation.
- SimpleOpenNI lib
new noiseshapes v2 (processing project)
- highpass filter in order to omit floor-generated frequencies
- saves images every n seconds to defined path, while frequencies are generated
- old noiseshapes v1 (processing project)
